Hello and good day to you Mainlands Golfer! After some technical internet-type issues I am finally able to post the Scramble results online. The scores have been totaled. Then they were tabulated, testified, and re-verified, all under the watchful eye of the golf department of the GRU. These scores should be the most accuratest EVER.
The Saturday Scramble bounced, hopped, and rolled, along in its normal fashion. 4 Teams in two flights won some prize money.
First Place – Stu, Bob, Frank, Rex, and Carl -11
Second Place – Karen, Mark, Bruce, and other Mark -9
Third Place – Mike, Stan, other Mike, Jeff, and Tom -8
1st Place Whit, Jim, Stuart, Steven, Kevin
Closest to the Pin was Team #6 – WAY TO GO PETE
The Sunday Scramble ended on Sunday. The weather was sublime. A nice breeze lasted the whole round as the clouds kept the burning sun at bay. We played a standard 2 person scramble and some scores were pretty impressive.
1st Place Trent and Corey – 10
2nd Place Vaughn and Rob -2
3rd Place – Steve and Rita +1
Closest to the Pin was on #6 by Steve Hensley.
The Pot from the prior weeks rain out was added to this weeks for a total of $114 so each of the winners got paid a kings ransom of $28.50 EACH. Who says the stakes aren’t high?
A few weeks ago I gave Rob Neighbor the attendance award for the Sunday Scramble. But the TEAM with the most consistent attendance was Rick Pightling and Lew Tucker. These gents were here in the sun, in the rain, and in the mud. Sometimes all in the same day. For being consistently considerate, and attentive attenders The Mainlands Golf Club is thrilled to give a dozen Wilson Duo U golfs balls to these gentlemen.
Finally I would like to thank all of the golfers that came out and made this summer’s Two-Person Scramble an awesome weekly event. I truly enjoyed playing with everyone I was paired up with. I look forward to doing it all again next year.
